Meet Dr. James E. Funke
Dr. James E. Funke, affectionately known as “Dr. Jim,” grew up in West Milwaukee and has been an active part of the community all of his life. He is the past President of the West Milwaukee Rotary Club (where he became a Paul Harris Fellow) and is a current member of the West Allis/West Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Jim graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1974, where he received first-rate training in all aspects of general dentistry. He has been practicing dentistry for more than 40 years and has thoroughly enjoyed transforming smiles for his patients and their families. He particularly enjoys the oral surgery and prosthodontic component of dentistry. His father (Dr. Walter H. Funke) began the practice in 1928, and Dr. Jim continues to see some of the very same patients and their children today. Dr. Jim attributes a great deal of his success to the relationships that both he and his father have built with their patients over many years. Currently, Dr. Jim is a member of the Wisconsin Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, where he has been awarded a Fellowship for completing a rigorous program of continuing education.
Outside of the office Dr. Jim enjoys spending time with his eight grandchildren and minature schnauzer, Ema. He loves to travel with his wife Mary whenever he has some time off. Dr. Jim is also an avid Bucks and Packers fan, and loves attending games when he can!
