Meet Dr. James Funke

Meet Dr. James E. Funke
Dr. James E. Funke, affectionately known as “Dr. Jim,” grew up in West Milwaukee and has been an active part of the community all of his life. He is the past President of the West Milwaukee Rotary Club (where he became a Paul Harris Fellow) and is a current member of the West Allis/West Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. James Funke graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1974, where he received first-rate training in all aspects of general dentistry. He has been practicing dentistry for more than 40 years and has thoroughly enjoyed transforming smiles for his patients and their families. He particularly enjoys the oral surgery and prosthodontic component of dentistry. His father (Dr. Walter H. Funke) began the practice in 1928, and Dr. Jim continues to see some of the very same patients and their children today. Dr. Jim attributes a great deal of his success to the relationships that both he and his father have built with their patients over many years.

Currently,Dr. James Funke is a member of the following:

  • Wisconsin Dental Association,
  • The American Dental Association,
  • The Academy of General Dentistry – He has been awarded a Fellowship for completing a rigorous program of continuing education here.

Outside of the office Dr. Jim enjoys spending time with his eight grandchildren and miniature schnauzer, Ema. He loves to travel with his wife Mary whenever he has some time off. Dr. Jim is also an avid Bucks and Packers fan, and loves attending games when he can!
